Hayden Christensen Says He’s “100% In” for a Darth Vader Solo Series
Enthusiasm is peaking for new Star Wars content starring Darth Vader. Social media graphics suggest an imminent new series with Hayden Christensen. While this is not an official announcement from Lucasfilm, the excitement is completely justified. Hayden Christensen has publicly confirmed he is “100% in” to return for a dedicated Darth Vader project.
This news surge comes directly from Christensen’s recent interviews and fan convention appearances, including Fan Expo Boston. Following his returns in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, the actor is clear that his work with the Sith Lord is unfinished. He noted the recent projects have “definitely reignited a spark in me.” He now wants to continue wearing the infamous black armor.
Hayden’s Wishlist: The Timeline He Wants
Christensen has been vocal about the specific eras he believes deserve further exploration. He focuses primarily on the Darth Vader timeline between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. He calls this period “good, meaty stuff there to explore still.” This is the time when Vader hunts the remaining Jedi and solidifies the Empire’s power. He also expressed a hopeful desire to once again join Ewan McGregor on screen to revisit the days of the Clone Wars.
Why a Solo Series Makes Sense
From a business and narrative perspective, a Darth Vader solo series is highly compelling. The character is arguably the most popular villain in cinematic history. His early Imperial operations are already detailed in the successful Marvel Darth Vader comic series. Lucasfilm could easily adapt this rich, established source material. Logistically, the masked nature of the role makes it an ideal continuous project for Christensen.
Despite the strong momentum, the important detail remains: Lucasfilm has not announced a standalone Darth Vader film or series. Fans should temper their expectations for now. However, Christensen is already confirmed to be returning as the character in the upcoming Ahsoka Season 2. This guarantees at least one more look at the iconic Jedi-turned-Sith.
