This is the way — to make money doing the thing you love the most. EDsmart, a college-ranking website, is looking to pay a die-hard Star Wars fan $1000 to watch every ‘Star Wars’ movie and ‘The Mandalorian’.
Sometimes, being stuck inside isn’t all bad. For Star Wars fans, it gives them the perfect reason to revisit their favorite sci-fi film franchise for hours on end. But this binge-watching opportunity is also a chance to get paid.
You will be binging all 11 theatrical films from the Star Wars franchise, plus all episodes of the Disney Plus series The Mandalorian, for $1,000 plus a bunch of Star Wars swag and other prizes. Take a look below for information on how to apply:
“Most of the world is struggling with self-isolation and not having a normal routine–like we’re all living on Tatooine with nothing to do except fix our vaporators on our moisture farm,” it says on the EDsmart website. “So, in light of all that’s going on out there and in our homes, we’ve decided to pay up to five Jedi, Sith, or Wookie $1,000 each to watch every Star Wars movie and The Mandalorian series.”
Here are all the films you must watch, in chronological order (not by release date):
- “Episode I: The Phantom Menace”
- “Episode II: Attack of the Clones”
- “Episode III: Revenge of the Sith”
- “Solo: A Star Wars Story”
- “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”
- “Episode IV: A New Hope”
- “Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back”
- “Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi”
- The Mandalorian (all episodes)
- “Episode VII: The Force Awakens”
- “Episode VIII: The Last Jedi”
- “Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker”
EDsmart calculated the amount of time for each show and move, which add up to just over 30 hours of galactic entertainment. Considering the $1,000 payout, the chosen candidate would be earning about $30 per hour for their binge-watching time. They will also be expected to live tweet or livestream their experience while tagging @edurefdesk or using the hashtag #edurefdesk.
Although this task can be done in two days, EDsmart notes on its website that the chosen candidate can have up to four days to complete it. The ideal candidate is a true Star Wars fanatic, is active on social media, is over 18 years of age, and is a United States citizen.
And in return, not only will the perfect candidate be receiving the $1,000 stipend, but also get one a Star Wars R2-D2 Mini Stir Popcorn Popper, six bags of popcorn kernels, a Jay Franco Star WarsMillennium Falcon blanket, a Star Wars Tiki Tumbler, and a choice of a $100 Grubhub gift card or a one-year subscription to Disney+.
In order to apply, simply visit the EDsmart application page on its website by clicking the link at the botton. The online form asks for your name and personal information as well as a section that asks you why you’re the best Jedi for the job.
Applications are open until May 3, so your binge-watching journey can coincide with Star Wars Day on May 4.
